“We absolutely have to make the enrollment season.” KAITECH met the anxiety of a client with little software experience by walking alongside them from business analysis through agile development to ongoing operation. A case that became one answer to school DX.
■ The Challenge
Amid pandemic social distancing, the traditional way of selling school supplies — buying in person at school — broke down, and the back-and-forth between suppliers, schools and parents became far more work than expected. On top of that, the client had little software experience and was deeply anxious about how to run the project so it would make the school’s sales season and actually work. They needed a partner who could support not just the technology but the very way of proceeding.
■ Our Approach
KAITECH first mapped out every part of the sales operation, the user stories and the feature requirements, then split delivery into phases by priority and necessity. Rather than try to finish everything at once, we defined the “basic features that must make the enrollment season” as Phase 1 and developed iteratively — and the system went live in time for the school’s enrollment period. Once in production, we put in place a structure for performance, defects, user feedback and help, and continue to support maintenance, enhancement and new features. This wasn’t build-and-leave; as a school-DX solution, we keep growing it after go-live.
■ Results & Highlights
- Phase 1 went live in time for the immovable enrollment-season deadline.
- Splitting by priority instead of shipping everything at once reduced delivery risk (agile).
- Guided a client with little software experience from requirements through the way of working.
- Put a structure in place for performance, defects and feedback after go-live.
- Released as a school-DX solution, with ongoing maintenance and enhancement.
■ Why KAITECH Was The Right Fit
This project distils what KAITECH does best. Start from business analysis; release the highest-priority features in stages, hold a deadline that cannot move — and then stay alongside the client through maintenance with the same team. Our guiding principle, to treat a client’s challenges and business as our own, is exactly what met the anxiety of a client new to software and carried the project to success.
