Knowing exactly where everything is in a warehouse, without anyone having to go look. KAITECH redesigned a medical-device manufacturer’s warehouse from the ground up using RFID tags and gateways.
■ The Challenge
This customer manufactures medical sensor devices and needed a digitization solution to improve its existing warehouse operations and optimize the environment for its management software. Inventory location tracking and inbound/outbound records depended on manual work, creating challenges around the time spent locating parts or products and maintaining inventory accuracy.
■ Our Approach
KAITECH built a fully custom solution from scratch to match the requirements. RFID gateways, antennas and readers installed throughout the warehouse read RFID tags attached to parts and products, capturing location in real time. The system covers product location monitoring, production management, inventory management and reporting, order management and intra-logistics management in one platform. The frontend runs on HTML5, CSS3 and React, the backend on Flask and FastAPI, with data stored in MongoDB / InfluxDB and visualized in Grafana.
