Turning a furniture factory’s paper-based, manually-tracked production line into a process connected end to end by a single QR code. KAITECH rebuilt the flow from raw-material intake to finished-goods shipping as one continuous stream of data.

■ The Challenge

This customer manufactures and exports furniture, and ran its entire flow — from receiving raw materials, moving them into the material warehouse, production, storage in the finished-goods warehouse, through to shipping — largely on paper records and manual checks. Because information was disconnected between steps, it was difficult to see inventory levels or production progress in real time, and simply checking status took real effort for managers. The company needed to digitize its processes and optimize the environment for its management software.

■ Our Approach

KAITECH proposed and built a combined ERP and WMS (warehouse management) solution on the open-source Odoo platform. A QR code is issued and attached at raw-material intake, and simply scanning it at each step — receiving, QC, moving into the material warehouse, production, storage in the finished-goods warehouse, and shipping — tracks status through the whole flow. Managers operate the system from a web browser, while warehouse staff use a mobile app, with input flows designed around how the floor actually works. The backend runs on Python (Flask, FastAPI), with Grafana for visualization and MongoDB / InfluxDB for data storage.
