The existing database and CMS held a precious asset — years of accumulated articles. Rather than discard and rebuild, the client needed to launch three digital titles while reusing that asset. For a news site, page speed and readability shape the reader experience, and the editorial team must be able to publish daily without friction. The brief called for a setup that preserved each title’s character while running efficiently on a shared foundation.

To reuse the existing database and CMS as-is, KAITECH built the digital sites with a Nuxt.js frontend and a REST API, handling UI design, frontend development, the REST API and AWS setup. Separating the frontend from content management let the editorial team keep its existing workflow while readers get a fast, readable experience. Using a shared foundation across the three titles raised build and operational efficiency, while still allowing each title its own design character.
