“Is there a team nearby we could play this weekend?”. KAITECH set out to answer that everyday question for amateur baseball teams with a map and a one-tap match, building the app from front end to infrastructure end to end.

■ The Challenge

Amateur baseball teams tracked down opponents through introductions, phone calls and social media, and it took real effort to find one that matched on both location and date. Too often a team would gather only to find no opponent and end up merely practising — a genuine missed opportunity. What they needed was something obvious yet missing: an easy way to match with nearby teams on the dates they were free.

■ Our Approach

KAITECH built the matching app end to end — the Flutter mobile app, the Vue.js admin panel and the PHP Laravel backend. Using the Google Maps API, we designed an interface that lets teams find the right opponent intuitively along two axes: place and date. Our scope covered requirements, basic and database design, AWS infrastructure, UI design and testing. Flutter delivered both iOS and Android efficiently, sparing the client the cost of two separate builds on a limited budget. Development continues, with feature improvements shipping as we go.
